Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park is known for its large elephant herds, ancient baobab trees and beautiful landscapes shaped by the Tarangire River. During the dry season, the river attracts large concentrations of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeest, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes and the predators that follow them. The park’s varied habitats include open grasslands, seasonal wetlands and acacia woodland, supporting more than 500 recorded bird species. Tarangire generally offers a quieter safari atmosphere than some of Tanzania’s better-known parks, making it ideal for travellers who appreciate uncrowded wildlife encounters and scenic game drives. Its convenient location near Arusha, Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro makes it an excellent part of any Northern Circuit safari.
